Direct One Long Distance aka LD Calling Plan rip-off fraudulent billing stole money from credit card Newport Beach California
I discovered on January 4, 2003 that said company "Direct One" Long Distance has charged my credit card account on November 26, 2002 for $48.79. Also, customer service with my credit company informed me on January 4, 2003 that another charge for the same amount was being processed.
I have never heard of this company and certainly know that I would never had ordered any long distance services from them. I have an unlimited minutes long distance plan and am greatly satisfied with that, therefore would have no need for this "Direct One".

Double check with your credit card companies about this!

I just called my credit card company to dispute the charges. The gentleman I spoke to told me that Direct One Long Distance Savings Plan was one of their vendors! Now I remember a while back they offered to send me a FREE calling card as a trial run of this long distance thing they had going, and that if I liked the service that I would have to call them and get more minutes. I accepted that because I was about to be away from home for a short while and thought this would be helpful. However, I NEVER got the card or anything else from them about this. Because of that I am still going to dispute the charges. I wanted you all to know this and to make double sure with your credit card companies about what this is.
