Don't ever purchase a computer from Direct PC in Corona California. They are incompetent and rude. Their e-mails are typo-laden. They don't answer direct questions. They are terrible. I ordered a computer in January and still haven't received it or a refund. I used "overnight shipping", isn't modern technology wonderful?

Here is the story. I ordered a computer from them. They sent me a printable order form. I printed it, sent my check out to them. Several days go by, no response. I e-mail inquiring as to whether or not they received my payment. They answer "it will take 7-10 business days for the check to clear before we ship your computer". That implied, of course, they had received it. A couple days later, they ask me if I sent my payment as they had not received it. d**n assholes, I asked them if they had received it and they want to know whether I sent it?!?!? Nevermind I told them I did, nevermind they basically implied they received it ( they avoided my question by answering one I didn't ask, how professional. ), they were uppity because my system "was ready" meaning they were tired of it "sitting around", I'm sure. So was I, Direct Pc, so was I.

At any rate, to make a long story short, the payment never made it to them. It seems the address I mailed it to was incorrect. Why was it incorrect, you ask. BECAUSE DIRECT PC PUT THE INCORRECT ADDRESS ON THIER ORDER FORM!!! So they sent me the correct address and I had to remail everything all over again.

Again, an extended period of time goes by without them responding. So I inquire about my order. It is ready they say, and will ship that very day and arrive the next. Oh, how exciting, I finally get my computer. BUT NO, it didn't come. So I e-mail them telling them it didn't come and ask them if it was actually shipped. Apparently they couldn't be bothered to respond. Probably couldn't find their way back to work after lunch as they seem to have trouble remembering their address. So I wait patiently, figuring what is one more day. It didn't come. I e-mailed them. No response. Next day, another e-mail, another failure to respond. Finally on the fourth day, after a certain word called "fraud" was inserted into my e-mail, they suddenly remember their address and respond. They don't know what happened and they'll look into it. I inform them that because of their suspicious activities, I will report them for fraud if I don't receive the computer the next day. They respond in all caps ( and, oh my, they actually spelled everything correctly for once, well except for one word ) claiming they had committed No Fraud, they just "experienced problems as all companies do". I told them I had never done business with a company with as many "problems" as they seem to have. I told them, and rightly so, that they were the most incompetent company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

Well, it seems they shipped the computer to the wrong address and they would get it back Wednesday and ship it so it arrives Thursday. This was a Monday. I told them I wanted it Tuesday or I want a refund. They said they couldn't do that. Well, I was thoroughly upset with Direct PC at this point and basically said, I want a full refund. Well, they got the computer back a day earlier on Tuesday. I asked if they could ship it out and have it arrive Wednesday. They said they could not. Now, that didn't make sense as they were saying they would get it Wednesday and could ship it that very same day. But they couldn't do the same Tuesday. This was early in the morning so they still could've shipped it before the deadline. So I offered a final comprimise, go ahead and ship it Wednesday and have it arrive Thursday and give me a partial refund for shipping since I paid for overnight and was getting it in a week from the time I should have. They said no, they couldn't do that and they would be issueing me a FULL refund ( including S&H ). Does that make sense? Lose a $1500 sale plus shipping instead of losing partial shipping charges? These people are complete morons!

At any rate, I had to ask when to expect my refund as they wouldn't volunteer that info. They said in a couple days. A couple days turned into a week. I started e-mailing them daily. They ignored it. Finally after 15 days they respond saying they mailed it. I had not received it in all of this time, mind you. They said they would "look into it". I promptly reported them for fraud online. They suddenly became "helpful" and said they would mail me a new refund. They confirmed my address ( good idea as they seem to be Alzeimer's patients ) and allegedly sent me a new check. It has been two weeks and it still hasn't arrived. And they are not answering my e-mails. This is far from over. I WILL GET MY MONEY FROM THESE DIRTY BASTARDS!!! Again, I ordered the computer in JANUARY and here it is, APRIL and I still have NOT received a computer or MY PROMISED REFUND!!!

GAME OVER FOR MICHAEL MATHEWS

#60

Wed, July 10, 2002

DirectPC is/was indeed a fraudulent business. I was contacted by an officer of SIB-CACTCH in California. Michael Mathews is currently in jail awaiting trial for among other things - violation of the terms of his probation and computer fraud.

He was previously convicted of fraud two years ago when he sold the same computer twelve times in an eBay auction. He never delivered the computer and he "ran with the money".

DirectPC was just a bigger, more efficient version of the same scam. The address given above is not the address of a factory or business, it is instead a two-bedroom apartment.

Robyn Cherney, Michael's girlfriend, was a silent partner.

Michael must have known that somehow sooner or later, this would all catch up to him and it did - thanks to a complaint by an individual who purchased two computers from him. Needless to say, he never received them and the FedEx tracking numbers provided to him were fake.

Please see my Ripoff Report on Michael Mathews for more info.

ADDRESS CONFIRMED!!!

Tue, June 25, 2002

I have confirmed that DirectPC's address is the same. They have not moved. The agency which said they did ( Southland BBB ) was either lying or were lied to by DirectPC. The only difference is it is now "Apt 203" as opposed to "Ste 203". Not much of a change, is it?

As I've stressed before, do NOT buy anything from this company. They have greatly imporved their e-mails i.e. better spelling, and Michael Mathews now includes his name. They have been made more professional looking. Do NOT be fooled. Remember, a broken down car doesn't any run better just because someone gives it a nice coat of paint.

Please email this company at sales@mydirectpc.com and urge them to resolve their outstanding debt. Tell them you know of their shady practice and let them know you will spread the message to others. Let them know anytime any family member, friend, co-worker or neighbor are looking to purchase a computer, you will warn them to steer clear of DirectPC in Corona, California. Tell them that if they wish to continue professing their innocence, they must prove themselves by returning my money.

If and when I receive my long overdue refund, I will post the news here for all to see. Otherwise, this case of unresolved thievery will remain for all the world to see, including their "customer" base in the U.S. If you do not see an update below posted by me stating I have received a refund, then you'll know I never did. DirectPC has a chance to rectify this situation. They can refund the money and show that despite their incompentence and the inexcusable lengthy wait, they ultimately did the right thing and settled their debt. Or they can not refund the money, and show the world they are nothing more than common con men with computer know-how.

FLY-BY-NIGHT! ( YOUR HELP REQUESTED )

#60

Sat, June 08, 2002

If anyone doesn't think Direct PC is a crooked company, here is the ultimate proof. It seems Direct PC has up and moved to an undisclosed location. They took their old address off the website ( which is still up - hoping to attract "suckers" ) and do not post their new address. It seems that certain agencies were after them, so poof, they get a new address.

If anyone is aware of their new address, please post it here. If no one knows it then please do the following. Email them at sales@mydirectpc.com ( it's still the same ), pretending to be a customer. Order an item. They'll give you an order form. Get the new address and cut and paste it here ( or just post it ). They are still in ( ahem ) "business" so they'll respond. Then just cancel the order ( don't even send payment, naturally ) or better yet, just cut communications with them like they do to "customers" after they've gotten their money.

This would be greatly appreciated and you would be doing your part in bringing a fraudulent fly-by-night company to justice.

P.S. - Phone number is the same. 909-898-9001. Our friends in California. Give them a call, be a customer. See what you can find out.

MAIL FRAUD

#60

Sat, May 18, 2002

The DirectPC criminals have been reported to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service ( For you DirectPC employees, that is the arm of the postal service which investigates and penalizes mail frauders ). DirectPC as an entity along with it's two "secret" administrators Robyn Cherney and Michael Mathews were named in the report received by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service on May 13th, 2002.

I understand these losers will have a chance to refund me my owed money. If they fail, while I cannot be assured my refund from the Postal Service, DirectPC can and will be fined a large amount as well as possibly incur other penalties. It seems refunding my money would be cheaper for these cheats, but maybe they are hiding more than just simple mail fraud. Oh well, it will eventually be uncovered. They will rue the day they ripped me off.

..it never came

#60

Fri, May 03, 2002

Here it is 3 months later, 2 more empty promises to send a refund and I still have NOT received my refund. After reporting them to the California State Attorney General, Bill Lockyer, they e-mailed me, FINALLY, after ignoring me for so long and tell me they have sent me "many refunds". Twice ( they alleged they mailed it ) is "many refunds"???

They claimed they would send another refund, this time via registered mail. You guessed it, it never came. I contacted the U.S. Postal Service to see if you can trace registered mail. You can but you need the Reply I.D. Number which DirectPC would have had if they had actually mailed it via registered mail. So I contact DirectPC, announce my desire to trace the registered mail and asked for the Reply I.D. number. They were then CAUGHT IN A LIE!!! They did not have a reply I.D. number. They did not mail it registered ( if at all ). When I called them on this, they said they would be and I qoute "gathering the necessary funds and sending me out another refund". Well, they obviously haven't found enough change in the employee lounge sofa yet, as it has been over 3 weeks and I haven't received it. They have not responded to any questions regarding my refund.

These cowards, from the very beginning of my order to the order falling apart and the refund failing to be issued have not volunteered their names. However, through Verisign I have found out the "administrators" of Direct PC and they are ROBYN CHERNEY AND MICHAEL MATHEWS.

ROBYN CHERNEY AND MICHAEL MATHEWS are SCAM ARTISTS and NO GOOD COWARDLY DIRTY LIARS!!! If you value your sanity and money, do NOT do business with this criminals or their deadbeat company, DirectPC. Do, however, e-mail them at sales@mydirectpc.com and tell them what you think of their underhanded business.
