Beware this company--they are lousy dealers of direct tv.
I made the mistake of ordering satellite equipment from them and it has been nothing but a headache. They make empty promises and they give you the run around.

My story started in June. We recently retired are are actively traveling in our rv. I used direct tv before and many traveleres have the rv kit and watch tv on the "satellite dish" whereever they are. It seemed like a good idea.

In the highways may 2009 edition, I saw the ad for the special. (the special also come in circular form) It promises free upgrade to HD DVR. WHen they sent the equipment (only the installer can open) it said HD DVR, but is a standard dvr receiver. I called and the customer dis-service department says, "Oh no, the promo period is over, you must pay 199.00 to get the HD DVR. You are only entitled to the standard dvr. THey also failed to send the satellite finder that the invoice says I get. Here it is the first of August, and I still can't get HD. It is the old classic "bait and switch". DIrect tv says they can do nothing to help me, but file an escalation clause (yet the ad is full of Direct tv logo) because I used a dealer and not direct tv. Direct Sat is rude (I have a copy of the letter I sent to them) and say there is nothing they can do, but I can BUY an HD receiver. Boy did I get took or what??

HD Service and a RV

#2UPDATE Employee

Thu, January 31, 2013

Greetings, My name is Aaron and I work for the Direct Sat Englewood Ohio location.  Having HD service on a moveable dish is vurtually impossible for a non trained technician you also must have a specified meter call a AIM "meter" which is around $500.  That is why you could only use a HD dish on a pole at a RV park.  However a standard dish you could tune with the signal meter that is built within the standard definition dvr or receiver.  Hope this clears things up.
