E-mail sent to direct tv Sunday September 21, 2008, 5:45 am

I had Direct tv installed at 4:00 pm on Friday September 19,2008. Due to not being informed of commitments at the time I ordered, and the lack of quality of the picture on 80% of the available stations, combined with a poor installation, I called my local sales rep. at 10:45 am on Saturday September 20, 2008 to advise them I did not want the service. I was told I needed to contact direct tv to cancel, which I did at 11:00am of the same date. I was told I needed to now return the equipment in boxes through the mail system, and my service would be disconnected as of midnight of the 20th. As of this writing at 5:30 am of September 21, my service has not been disconnected. I am formally advising you of my cancellation effective as of the time I called on the 20th, and the need for you to make arrangements to have your equipment removed from my premises. This is Not My Liability

After returning all of the equipment to Direct TV as they requested, they later charged my credit card an additional $500 after they had already charged it for $75.00 for the first month and a $50.00 charge for a setup fee. A total of $625 for an installation that was cancelled 15 hours later. Direct TV should be arrested and charged with theft, but I guess that isn't going to happen. BUYER BEWARE! Direct TV earns the Scam of the Year Award.
