Direct TV and AT&T ATT scam for bundling discounts and early termination fees Greenwood Village Colorado
I visited thge AT & T webiste to see if there were discounts to existing customers to pick up a bundle discount for internet service as I had them for my home phone and cell phone. I received a call from one of their bundle "experts" who told me they could not bring hi speed service to my area so I passed on that - she then noted I was a direct tv customer and she could add features to my home phone for free if I bundled in my direct tv service. Sicne my 2 yr commitment to direct tv was up in May I asked her if this would require a new commitment and she answered no.
The next week I received a notice from AT & that my monthly rate was doubling due to the new features - I called and they explained is was due to the fact that the discont does not take effect for 2 months (never mentioned by the sales person). As a result I decided to change my home phone and direct tv service and called direct tv and at & t to terminate. Both customer service reps confirment I was under no agreement and there would be not termination fee. Today I received a $200 bill fromdirect tv for early termination and when I called to complain I was told at &t casues the problem not them and I need to write a letter to the direct TV billing dispute center so they can bill at & T!!! This is totally wrong as 1. Everyone as confirmed all along that I did not need any comittment to get the discount. 2. I never received any benefit from the bundling. 3. Both agents who I called to disconnect servie all confirmed there was not going to be an early termination fee (as is noted in the diredct tv customer service system.
