Originally contacted Direct TV inquiring about service in our motorhome. We asked if since it was for intermittent use, (only being needed while on vacations with the motorhome), if we could request the service be turned on and off as it was used without incurring connection/termination fees or minimum contract billing periods, to which they responded that would not be a problem. We used their service originally in 2005 without billing issues and they allowed connection and disconnection with no minimum use period as they promised. During the trip of 12/2006 to 4/2007, we had a number of billing and service issues. We had poor and no service more than we had service and DTV issued a number of credits due to our problems. But when we returned on 4/20/07 and called DTV to suspend our service, they apparently did not and continued to bill us while our motorhome sat in our driveway unused. On 7/27/2007 I called them & spoke with Mea and after going through all the previous billing periods, she accepted my payment for $57.27 confirmation number 319679828 as payment in full. In doing a routine review of my credit report, I now find a: Mitchell N KAY LAW OFFICE, 7 PENN PLAZA, NEW YORK, NY 10001 PHONE #212-695-8155 has filed a Collection Account against me for a whooping $62.00 being the amount the customer service representative with Direct TV was supposed to credit off. No previous contact was made regarding this issue by DTV, just went ahead and recorded fraudulent information on my Credit Report. Fair Credit Reporting Act requires contact prior to committing slander.
