To all Direct TV subscribers Attention you must read this before buying or deciding to end the slow death.
My wife ordered 2 receivers to total fo4ur in the home. Direct TV told us that since our dish was so old (original dish) I had paid $1100.00 for the system when I first got the system, now they give them away.

My wife ordered these 2 receivers December 16,2008 and have been waiting still today. They have had me waiting three separate days for five hours, I called them and was on hold and told sorry over and over.

I called corporate headquarters and was promised that they would be there on Jan. 15th am and I sat and waited like a fool. At 1:00 p.m. I called the corporate number and was told to wait for a phone call from them. Do they think I am a bum or a pleb and if they do how can either be able to subscribe to the service.

I HAVE BEEN WITH DIRECT TV FOR 14 + YEARS AND NOW BEEN BENT OVER WAITING FOR TWO RECEIVERS. I HAVE COUNTED THE DIRECT TV VANS PASSING BY HOME NEAR THE HIGHWAY EVERY DAY, BUT FOR ONE TO STOP IS JUST PLAIN B.S.
MY LAST RESPONSE WAS THAT I NEEDED TO MAKE ANOTHER SERVICE DATE WITH THEM TO PICK UP ALL THEIR CRAP OFF MY LAWN THAT I JUST THREW OUT BEFORE DISH NETWORK GETS HERE TO REPLACE THE LAST SERVICE PROVIDER WHICH IF I AM RIGHT SHOULD BE CALLED DIRECTLY SCREW U TV.

AS YOU ALL CAN TELL LOYALTY MEANS NOTHING TO THIS COMPANY AND SO YOU REMEMBER THIS NEXT TIME YOU WANT A SERVICE PROVIDER, DOES LOYALTY MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU? IF NOT HOOK UP WITH UP WITH THEM, BUT IF LOYALTY MEANS SOMETHING TO YOU, DO NOT REPEAT, DO NOT CHOOSE DIRECT TV -THEY WILL TELL YOU NOTHING BUT LIES AND PROMISE THE WORLD.

IF YOU WANT A GREAT SERVICE WHICH COSTS LESS AS DIRECT TV SAYS AND YOU SAY LETS DO IT, THEN HEY BEFORE YOU DO CONTACT ME I WILL SELL YOU THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE.

I was with them for 11 years. Everything was fine until I had to deal with their customer service. They screwed up my billing, couldn't fix it and also made promises that they had no intention of keeping. Basically, they treated me like a sucker (for believing that they'd do what they said). No way am I going to pay anyone to do that.

Good luck with Dish network. From the reports around here, they're customer service isn't all that much better. My solution was to dump pay TV altogether and get some rabbit ears. It's HD now and I save big $$s every month.
