Direct TV automatically renewed MLB Extra Innings at the beginning of the baseball season. This was without our knowledge or permission. When the bill arrived including the 1st installment of $42.25, I phoned them to say we were not renewing and deducted that charge fronm the billing when I paid the bill.

On 4/22 we received a second PAST DUE bill, wanting the current charges plus the previous months $42.25 for the MLB. They threatened a service interruption date of 5/6/08. I phoned them immediately and spoke with Nigel, 212 4610SW. He apologized, acknowledged the previous instruction to cancel MLB Extra Innings. Said they would credit the $42.25 and grant a credit of $5.00 per month for 3 months to cancel any additional charges and that we could go on line the next day to see the adjusted balance.

This has also not happened and they have begun to phone us regarding their past due balance.

We should not have to pay for services they provided against our instructions and then demanded payment. This also happened to a friend of mine who had NFL Sunday ticket. They demanded payment for the time it was connected. This is a scam and blackmail. How many others have they done this to and gotten away with it?
I have filed complaints with the FTC (worthless) and am filing with the FCC.

Can you help put a stop to this criminal practice?
