Direct Tv is trying to collect an early cancellation, but I have been a member for over two years.  Our reciever was damaged in a flood while I was on deployment and my wife was at my parents house for new years.  Direct Tv sent us a new reciever and hooked it up for no fee. 


A few months later I returned home and added a program for my wife to watch everyday.  A month later she was having problems watching and called the help desk.  She did everything they told her to do.  They treated her like she did not understand english. 


After my wife told me what had happened I cancelled my membership.  They told me my last bill was paid and they would send me a box to send the reciever back.  I did and a month later I recieved a bill for almost 300 dollars for a cancellation fee.  I called them a total of five times in reguard to this bill.


Direct Tv tells me since my reciever was replaced I automaticaly agreed to a two year agreement.  I look over the term and conditions and no where does it say that happens.  Now they have turned my bill over to a collection company.
