Below is a copy of an e-mail I sent to US Senators McCain & Kyle, US Representative Harry Mitchell, AZ State Senator Meg Cahill, and Az Staqte representatives Edward Ableser, & David Schapira, 3 On Your Side, Anti defamation League. I am most distressed about this issue. I feel that when a new RELIGIOUS channel is made available to your customers, there should be no charge for making it available. Of course your representatives explained that once I pay for the new dish and of course the installation of this dish, I will be able to get the channel without further charge. HOWEVER, I am REQUIRED TO PURCHASE THE DISH AND HAVE IT INSTALLED. That makes it discriminatory. If you want to charge for making the 10 Christian channels available, then it fits that the Jewish channel should have a charge. If not, then the Jewish channel should be made available to any customer who wants it at no charge at all.

I just discovered a new channel at Direct TV. it is JLTV a Jewish channel. Currently there are 10 Christian channels available at no additional charge with my Direct TV account. HOWEVER , if I want to receive this new Jewish channel, I have to upgrade my dish, at a cost of $49.95 + $19.95 installation.

I spoke with two people at Direct TV, Andy and his supervisor, Josh. They explained that I would not be charged extra for the channel, but I would have to pay for the new dish and installation. This is blatant religious discrimination, because if I don't buy this new dish, and pay to have it installed, I will be unable to enjoy a Jewish religious channel.

I would appreciate it very much if you would address this intolerable situation as soon as possible.

Out of your mind

You are out of your mind. This is not discrimination.

Should nickelodeon be free? Well, its the channel for kids. If its not that would be age discrimination.

What about the Women's channel? That's a channel for women, it should be free too! If not that's gender discrimination!

Oh wait, BET, That is free right? That's black entertainment television, oh wait you have to pay for that too. Must be racial discrimination.

Cable TV is a LUXURY not a RIGHT. No rights have been violated, they can charge you whatever they like for their product.

if you had a RIGHT to christian television and they denied you then you would have a story.

As of this moment, you do not have a right in this country to television or any television channel.

So, Find something else to complain about, because this one is going nowhere.
