After visiting a website offering cheap movie downloads for a $4.95 one-time fee I decided to not take up the offer.

Imagine how dumbfounded I was later when I discovered a day or so later my visacard bank statement had a debit of $30.28 Australian dollars and a previous email advising me about recurrent charges!

I pre-notified my bank of an impending scam (after email received) and gave the likely debit name and mentioned a $30 amount. The bank apparently failed to block it.

Action will start tomorrow (weekend now) with a further phone call to my bank as to reversal of debit and WHY didn't they take proper notice of my pre-notification?

Moral is "if something is too good to be true re web offers ...... etc" and HOW did they steal or buy my visa numbers? I'm in Thailand.
