Directional Concepts Aka HD Staffing ripoff - child slavery and manipulation Tustin California
DCI Staffin aka HD Staffing is a slimey, corrupt Corporation that takes advantage of minors. They don't pay these children after they have worked in the rain /heat /cold/ busy streets etc. Even when labor disputes are filed with back-up paperwork...they are not willing to accept responsibility... they try passing the buck to the home builders, independent contractos, etc. Please..Please.. Please whoever is willing to work for this Company... keep detailed records.... anyone willing to take up a class action suit..

Directional Concepts, Inc. Experience

I have worked for Directional Concepts, Inc. (from here on "DCI") when I lived in California. I have never witnessed any of these allegations. In my experience, DCI has been a great company, taking care of their employees and being fair with wages. I never encountered a single issue when I picked up my paycheck. I never seen or heard about any unfair actions against employees, minor or not. Every job has it's hazards, DCI has outdoor and busy streets, which someone wanting a job there should already know. McDonald's has scolding hot grease, steaming grills and sharp knives. Every job has it's hazards, the only difference is that they vary from industry to industry. When I worked there, I kept logs, and never noticed any discrepancies.

HD Staffing is a growing/changing company

First of all, I worked for HD Staffing/Directional Concepts for almost 3 years, as a sign twirler, and as a supervisor. I even worked for Karen Huff, the "National Manager" mentioned above, she's the one who promoted me to supervisor(the second time). During my time at HD Staffing, I saw a lot of changes made to the company, and I saw a lot of incredibly bad ideas executed. And while I can agree that some of the things these people are saying actually happened(although missing pay wasn't really all that frequent, and the weather things about hail, etc. are exaggerations/not worth complaining about considering that's really part of the job description), but it's jumping the gun to say that it's because they're a greedy "slimey" company. No, it's not. I was there and I was as involved in the process as you could be, so I can tell you it's not because of anyone trying to rip you off, it's because they just have a really bad structure of authority. For example, 90% of the time, if you're missing some pay, it's likely it's because a project manager made an error, whereas the project manager isn't directly over you, a supervisor may be, and as much as that supervisor might try to get you your pay, project managers can be forgetful, or strict with paying people back without having proof(time cards) that you worked from the supervisor. There are also issues with changes that have been made to the payroll program the company uses that prevent pay from being changed in that kind of way(or make it so that only someone very high up would be able to issue back pay, etc.). That being said, yes, the company does hire ignorant supervisors who will make threats and sometimes do illegal things(and those supervisors should be fired), but what do you expect from a sign twirling company that pays this well to anyone with no work experience or education? I was making 9 dollars an hour when I started, and went up to 15 dollars an hour in my time working there. That's good money for someone in high school or college. That's an opportunity. I don't care about the heat or weather or stupid supervisors, I worked in 120 degree heat during the summer, spinning my sign as much as I possibly could(youtube.com/arknihil), and if that's not worth it to you, then simply don't take the job, go work fast food or retail somewhere for half the pay. No one is forcing these kids to take these jobs, it's an opportunity, I would have done anything for something like this around the time I was 16 and nowhere would hire me because I was too young.

I have worked with HD STAFFING,INC. since 07-07-07. I am a Lead HD and i love my job. They have never missed paying me. I had only one plroblem with my paycheck and they took care of it immediatly. I believe that they are fair. When it is raining they let anybody that works for them sit in an inside location and still get paid. When it is too hot, i call my boss and she either brings me mone to go get water or lets me sit down for a few minutes. They work with keeping me near where i live and i have a great time doing what i do... This is my first job and they have, and still are, making it a great one.

Ive worked for this company for over 3 years. Ive worked in Extreme heat exceeding over 116 degrees, cold, rain, Lightning, and hail. During the time I have worked for this company Ive had my pay cut from $13.00 dollars an hour to $10.00 I believe I worked too hard for just to let them take it away, sometimes I wouldint get payed for weeks just to have them pay me less then was owed. From my records they owe somewhere in the area of $156 dollars. Ive been told that I would receive bonuses of some kind... never got them. Ive been told to show up 30 mins early to work which they would not pay me for and If I refused they would place me on "standby" Which mean no job! My "supervisors" (which are some of the laziest irresponsible people I have ever met) have threatened me to do things which are considerd Illegal so this company can save a buck from.
I beg for someone to do something about this! These people are crooks! They need to be stoped. IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW HAS ANY INTEREST AT ALL IN APPLYING FOR THIS COMPANY SAVE THEM THE HEADACHES OF DISAPPOINTMENT AND DISCOURGE THEM FROM DOING SO.

Worked for this "company" Directional Concepts, aka HD Staffing for two weeks in Florida. Saw the same issues, no pay, and others not getting paid. Also rude emails about not getting paid sent by the "National Manager" - khuff@hdstaffing.com
I'm fed up with them and would love to see a class action suit against them. I have all my emails and correspondence regarding not getting paid as well.

Jacob, I also worked for H D Staffing however I was a supervisor. After witnessing the kids not receiving their pay checks on time week after week and a lot of other stuff going on with the company we parted ways. H D still owes me money and I just got a judgment against the corporation and will be filling complaints with the California Secretary of State as they have the power to pull a Corporations Corp status. All I can tell you Jacob is stand up for what you believe in and keep fighting as you will receive compensation one day.
I will say for anyone reading this that what Jacob is saying about what happens at H D sounds to be about what I saw my self.

I have worked for Directional Concepts through DCI and HD Staffing for almost 2 years. I have had a great work experience with this company. I think this guy Jacob that is saying bad things about DC is probably working for a another Sign Twirler company and just angry that we get paid more than him and get paid every week.
I have refferd over 10 people who all work for HD Staffing currently(including me little sister who just turned 16) and we have all been very happy. So go spread lies about antoher company Jacob, because I am sure evryone who is working for this company does not agree with you!
