It all started over a year ago, December 2000. I ordered a Telocity Account and received a modem by Fed Ex. It was during the holiday and I decided to stay with my cable provider for my Internet Access. It took Telocity a couple of calls, but I did get the account cancelled and a credit was issued some time in April 2001. I thought it was a done deal.

Of course, Telocity DSL was sold to DirectTV around the same time. The credit was issued along with new billing from DirectTV.
And it was connected to my business charge card. I kept being promised that they would cancel the account and credit it back. Never happened. I hated to cancel the card because I might lose their credit. I should have done it sooner, but I just did it finally in December when I got a whopping bill of $249.00 added to the account. All told, I am now out almost $600.00 and it all is going to a company that has never done business with me.

I get letters once a week and I call continually with promises of return calls from the Supervisor, whoever he or she is. I did cancel the card and no more charges are on it, but I am still out quite a bit of money. It is a daily discussion. I have filed complaints with my Credit Card company and they are pursuing action on their part.

I would never use DirectTV and I wonder who ever would. I can never get a live person, mostly new phone numbers to call. And if I do get a live person, I have called the wrong department, I need the DSL department. Oh, my, have I called the wrong number again? Must be me.

This is a word to the wise: If Direct TV is on your bill and you think you are taking care of it, think again. Cancel the card pronto as they have empty promises and I am still working on it.
