I have been a customer of directTv for many years. I have multiple receiver boxes used through out my house, and as such I am familiar with the operations of the DirectTv DVR 15. Several months ago I started receiving programming that I did not request.

Let me explain to those who do not have a digital video recorder (DVR). Using the on screen menus you can record programs you want to watch for later viewing. I had thought my Sat receiver was faulty because I had six programs I didn't record and could not delete, they totaled around 5 1/2 hours. After calling Tech Support I found that no my receiver was not faulty but Direct TV was Spamming my DVR with programs to sell products and content of Direct TV. YOU CANNOT DELETE THIS PROGRAMMING!! I am being SPAMMED by Direct TV. My hardware is being used with out my support!

This is a new avenue for profit which I find very offensive. This is on par with internet e-mail spamming. However I have no way to delete or clear out my "inbox" The U.S. government is going after internet spammers for e-mail spamming and should go after DirectTv for VIDEO SPAMMING. This is a serious breach of ethics. At least let me opt out. Check your Personal DVR Receiver for lost time. DirectTv should stop VIDEO SPAMMING!!
