I called and asked to have DirectTv installed on 11-06-06. Nothing was told to me that I had to keep it for 12 months, or that there was a $150.cancellation fee if I cancelled before the 12 months.

I had lots of problems with techs not knowing how to install, and having multiple techs out to fix things. And when calling I always seemed to get a customer service person who didnt know anything . After a month I decided I no longer wanted to deal with a company who could never help me solve my problems, and also who had told me we would get certain channels that we didnt get.

When I called to cancel, I was told I would have to pay $150, because I wasnt keeping it for a year. I told them they had nothing in writing that I had signed, and this was not legal, and I dont see how they could make me pay this. They then told me "They couldnt make me pay, but they would keep billing me, " and I said "and ruin my credit? And they said probably!.

I have emailed four people who would not, nor could not help me, and I called several 800 numbers and got people who would not or could not help me.Nor would they give me the corporate office's phone number.I think something should be done to make DirecTV responsible.

All I want is to cancel my service. It is not a satisfactory company to deal with. Plus we had 1/4inch of snow last night, and could not get any thing at all on our tv for hours.
