For 6 months from February, 2006 thru and including August, 2006, I was on the phone complaining about my directv reception. I was told that because this was a multiple dwelling unit, they couldn't come out to fix the satellite or even to come and check my hook up and that I had to contact the private contractor my unit hired. I explained to them that this person could never be contacted and never returned calls and that if I was paying directv bills to directv, they should be responsible for repairs that were not our fault otherwise I would pay the contractor and not directv.

After numerous phone calls, they finally came and fixed the satellite, giving me 2 credits for approximately half of one month's bill. I also received a letter from directv stating that because of my problems with them, they are giving me a free dvr. I called them to order this dvr and was told to contact the contractor because he should have them. I did this and was told no, I have to get it from directv, so I called directv again and was told that I would have to pay 99.00 for it and they would take it off my next 2 bills.

That's not free, that's a rip off. why should I pay for something that I was assured was a gift? Reduciing my bill is not an option, since I wouldn't even see this reduction until the end of the year because that is how long it takes for them to put everything in order.
