I had unplugged my reciever, because of a storm. After the storm,I plugged it up, the signal was weak. I called Tech support. She did not even ask me to try resetting the reciever, just said I needed a new reciever again. I said no way. The reciever had been unplugged and my husband has been in electronics for over 50 yrs. He did all the communications at the Police Dept.+Radio Station in NY.I think he would know if the reciever was bad! I hung up the phone.

Last time I called Teck, they said I needed a new reciever(when I said I was contacting FCC-Consumer Ele.a*s.-AAFTC,Call for Action, etc)they decided to have me change the cable wire.I disconnected the cable, went and made a cup of tea, went back and connected the same cable back. Lord and Behold the tv worked fine! How stupid do they think people are, especially a woman?

I've had the recievers less than a year and now have contacted the people listed above. Now I'll wait and see.

You own that equipment

Your receiver is under warranty for one year and if it cannot be fixed over the phone, with whatever information you provide the techs, who provide this service at no charge to you, even though YOU own the equipment, the receiver would have been replaced at no charge to you. Try getting service like this on something else you own and can't get it to work. For people like you there is cable services or perhaps you could rent your system and get out of the ownership plan because it does come with a responsibily on your part.
