Discount Blind And Shutter Factory - Kristen Wolf - Neil Merrigan Failure to deliver. Misleading statements, Failure to call back, ripoff. Chandler Arizona, California, and Nevada
We ordered wood shutters from this company on 6/1/05. We were told that delivery would be in 8 - 10 weeks. On 8/15/05 we were told that the order was not submitted to the factory and would have to be resubmitted. We were given a second estimate of 10/17 for delivery.
On 10/19 we were told that the shutters were on the factory floor and only needed to be primed and painted. On 10/24 Kristin Wolf (the owner) called us after repeated requests. She told us that the shutters would ship on 11/14 and we could count on her and that date.
As of 11/21 we have not recieved the shutters and Kristin has not called back. We were also told by Neil Merrigan (Office Manager) that the shutters had shipped by 11/16 and would be installed that week. No one has called to schedule the installation and now Neil tells us (as of 11/21) he does not know what the status is.
It will soon be 6 months since we placed the order and we still do not have a clear straight believable story on installation. We almost never recieved return phone calls from the sales people and the corporate office and the owner. Our only form of communication is driven by us calling constantly.
As of this date, the owner (Kristen Wolf) has refused to refund our money or offer a discount back to us despite the terrible way we have been treated.

Kenneth Montoya called me yesterday,after leaving a message for him at Shutters USA amazingly and advised me that Discount Blind and Shade Factory will be filing Chapter 7 within the next couple of days! Just wanted to let everyone know what I heard.

I have found out that this company was reported on Channel 12 News. Attached you will find the link to the Channel 12 News video from Arizona. Look at the Monday Video under consumers for a section titled "Protection Guide
against Business that go belly up".
They claim that they are planning on filing for Chapter 11.

My name is Nils Merrigan and yes I was the office manager of Discount Blind and Shade Factory and the ship dates that I had given this customer were true to my knowledge. When I found out that the dates were in fact wrong and that they (the company) had no idea where or when product was to be shipped I left the company. I want no part of a company that lies to their customers and their employees so that their employees then end up lying for them.
