Discount Blind & Shade Factory ripoff, questionable cunning elusive lying set of employees who were fired Chandler Arizona
July 2006 I received Clipper Magazine advertisement with Discount Blind offering a complimentary set up fee. Being a business person who also advertises in same magazine I decided to go with this company. George Mertz came out to measure and take 1/2 the downpayment which was $400. He was very down to earth speaking about his son being in the service, etc. I trusted this man to taking my money and expecting my shutters in six weeks. Immediately I had the feeling I was dealing with a deceitful company. The lady who answered the phone was not very professional in handling a simple question like "Can you find out when my shutters will be delivered"? She didn't have my paperwork at first. Then she said George didn't get the paperwork in till just recently and I would be getting a call soon. After many phone conversations and endless dates I realized I was duped.

I have never purchased anything from Discount Blinds but I have just spent the better part of two hours reading all of the horror stories on Rip-off Report.
I did a little research on Ken and Kristen's home that they purchased in June of '05. The purchase price was $493,723, Kristen put it in her name as sole and separate property and oddly enough they only put $23.00 as a down payment, according to the tax assessor. That is not a typo! TWENTY-THREE DOLLARS AND NO CENTS. I just wonder where all YOUR money is going.
Putting down so little on their house could be a big mistake in the event you are able to pursue litigation against them directly. You cannot take their house from them, according to the homestead laws. However, by virtue of the $23.00 down payment on the house, they surely must be heavy on the liquid side.
As I drive around Phoenix I see people with these big protest banners that say SHAME ONLABOR DISPUTE and I was thinking that someone in your contingency should do the same in front of their 4,607 sq ft home, which features a 5 car garage.
Let the whole neighborhood know they have swindled peoples hard earned money. Follow them around with the banner. Let them feel SHAME.
FYI their address is public information and easily accessible.
I feel bad for all of you who have lost money and, as an honest, hard working, tax paying Arizonian, I share in your anger

Looking back at my original check I gave to them I see they changed the layout of my business check and typed in Blind & Shade Factory, Inc. It says signature not required where I would have to sign. I'm going to my bank to see why and how this could happen. The date was changed as well.
