Complaint Review: Discount Book Sale

My girlfriend bought a book from DBS and that was fine. A month later the credit card bill comes and there are not one but two monthly membership charges (one on the first of the month and one on the 30th?). Nowhere on their website does it say that you must join their club to shop with them.

When I called their number (it appeared on the credit card statement as 8667075858*DBS*BOOKS 8667075858) they told me they would cancel the membership but wouldn't refund the fees they'd already charged, even after I told them I'd send the book back. The charges have been disputed with my credit card company.

A quick google search for DBS Books showed me that a lot of people have been ripped off by these scammers. Beware!
