Discount Electronics Sent 2 faulty Dell motherboards, kept 2nd one I returned, no refund. Confiscated my money. Ignores emails Austin, Texas
I purchased a Dell XPS M140 motherboard from Discount Electronics as a replacement for my dying one. When installed, the motherboard worked fine but did not recharge my battery. I followed their returns policy and sent it back. In the meantime, I re-installed my OEM motherboard and was able to again recharge my battery.
They sent motherboard #2, and the same thing happened, no re-charge. I took the laptop to a battery store, where we tried to diagnose the problem with a different power adaptor, just in case it was my problem. No difference.
I again sent back their motherboard and they have now kept it without a refund and will not return my emails. I have 2 emails from them. The first said they inspected the motherboards upon return and found them to be good. This was a pretext for charging me a re-stocking fee. The second said the returned motherboards were bad, and that was the reason they would no longer sent me another.
I believe the motherboards they sent me were either faulty or incorrect part numbers, because they would not work with the OEM equipment I have. I am out $135.25. I purchased this motherboardNovember 20. Just yesterday the BBB complaint was closed unresolved. Ten weeks of frustration.
