Discount Tile and Bath Hector Gonzalez Horrible Workmanship San Antonio, Texas
Hector Gonzalez of Discount Tile and Bath aka Discount Kitchen and Bath has to be the worst contractor in San Antonio. I contracted him to remodel my laundry room/ bathroom and he did a horrible job. First he promised to be finished within the same week and it ended up taking him over a month to complete a simple job. He or his workers didnt bother to show up most of the time and didnt even call to let me know they wouldnt be coming. I was without a washer and dryer the entire time and Hector could care less. His workmanship was horrible as well, he and his workers left me with gaps between the baseboards and floor, uneven tile, a crooked door, unfinished trim and a dryer vent that looks like a bad prop in a sci-fi movie.
His workers also somehow managed to run hot water to the commode, hot water to the cold side of the sink faucet and almost shorted the dryer by hooking up the outlet wrong which I had to have an electrician come and correct and who told me could of caused a fire. Hector did not return my calls nor agree to come fix his mistakes. Do not use this contractor/ company to do any work in your house or business. Dont know where he got his contractors license but it should be revoked.

The absolute WORST tile contractor I have ever dealt with!! He LIED TO MY FACE about his references and WALKED OFF THE JOB. We had about 600 sq/ft of flooring and a 4x6 shower we contracted him to do. Although, it took them over 3 weeks, they did a "decent" job on the floor, for which I paid them. However, the shower was another story. Multiple times throughout the project, the workers would randomly not show up for work. No phone calls, no heads up, and no explainations were given. We pointed out multiple things during the project that were concerns about workmanship, but we kept being told to "let them finish" then we would address them. Finally, after over 4 weeks of them working on the shower, I insisted Hector, the owner, come look at the shower before they started grouting. At first, he wouldn't admit anything was wrong with the workmanship. After pointing out multiple issues, he finally was able to "see" the problems. Instead of fixing the shower, HE WALKED OFF THE JOB!!! Leaving us with an unfinished and unusable shower. He told me to "find someone else to fix it." It was so bad we had to completely tear everything out and start over with a new contractor before anyone else would touch it. I will NEVER use this guy again. BEWARE.

To begin with ive had work done by Hector Gonzalez and his company. They finished on time and under budget because of cost cutting sugestions that made sense. He could of used my full $25,000 budget but instead only cost me $11,546. Im proud of this recomendation and recommended him to my neighbors and friends here in monte vista district and stone oak. No one is perfect in any line of work and to expect that is small minded and ignorent. To many bitter poeple who are too tight with money and expect a kings meal done with $5 worth of groceries and thats not going to happen. It doesnt hurt to give poeple a call for a free estimate to see for yourself. Thank you Hector.
