Today (12/28/2010) I called your customer contact number (1-800-894-9131) and spoke to Sarah employee ID: 8VR. She said she would dispute the charge that is from a 3rd party.

Subsequently, I was transferred to M-ick/Supv at (1-888-957-3474) he says that he denies my dispute since the person I spoke to says that I wouldnt listen to the details of the transaction.

I am outraged that a 3rd party could somehow become involved in what I was led to believe was a straightforward service agreement between the DISH TV Network and myself. Essentially, they are saying that yes they are ripping off $49.99 from me, and there isnt anything that I can do about it!!

I disagree with that and intend to pursue the matter though the appropriate State and Federal agencies if we cannot resolve this matter. I intend to cancel my service.

Robert,

My name is Ray Calo with DISH Network. I saw your post and wanted to provide information to you about the $49.99 charge. DISH Network and other satellite companies use Retailers to sell our products. The some Retailers do charge a $49.99 processing fee whenever someone signs up with DISH Network through that Retailer. This fee has nothing to do with DISH Network.

As suggested from a previous post, the matter can only be settled with that Retail company, not DISH Network. If you have any other any questions, you can twitter us on Twitter or contact us on Face Book.

From what you copy and pasted, you will see the web address of the 3rd party, 4digitaltv.com. If you visit this site, you will see at the bottom, that Altitude Marketing is the company you actually hold issue with:

Altitude Marketing, L.L.C. is an authorized independent contractor retailer of DISH Network L.L.C

I also know that Altitude Marketing records every sales call, so all you need to do is call them 877-828-3474 and ask for a supervisor to listen to your sales call. If they never disclosed the fee to you, then you can dispute it with them.
