charged $499 credit card 10 days after I sent back equipment in their prepaid UPS box with prepaid address label . They claimed they never received ,

After one year of lousy receiption, (I respected the one year contract) I called and cancelled Dish Network. It was explained to me that I would receive a shipping box with a prepaid, pre addressed return label which I did about 10 days later.

I received it on a Saturday Aug 31 and since it was labor day weekend my husband took it to work with him on Tuesday, Sept 3rd. I kept a copy of the tracking number which was on the prepaid label. Since it was prepaid, the bookkeeper gave it to the UPS man with other boxes going out.

She did not see the UPS man scan the box but did not think about it at the time. Ten days later my credit card company called me and advised someone was trying to charge $399.00, 198.00, 99.00, 49.50, 24.75,12.37,4.00,4.00,4.00 None of these went thru because I was near my limit when they started and then the credit card company put my account on hold.

I was told by my credit card company that Dish could force these thru, even to go over my limit, even though it was a fraud. I called Dish network and they started a claim but still kept trying to put the charges thru. I call UPS and nothing comes up on the tracking number. Do you think it was a scam label with a false tracking number?
So now the equipment is lost in limbo and Dish Network says I owe $499.00. My credit card company has not paid it yet but they say it could be forced thru. What should I do? Should I report the UPS company or take Dish Network to small claims court?

i am a dish network dealer and have never had any problems with any of my customers because when i sale a dish i make sure that the customer reads the contract and answer all questions in regard to what they will be charged if they cancel with in a year.most people don`t unstand when you give your credit card to someone you are giving them the right to charge to your card. as for the misplaced package you neen to go after ups because they are the ones that misplaced it . i assure you that if dish had received it they would not have charged your card. they just don`t operate that way
