I pay for one year in advance always to get one month free. Last time I did this, I was told I could get 6 mos. free Cinemax with my HBO. I was charged HBO for a year, as usual. I cancelled the Cinemax after 6 months; then, monthly bills of around $30 started coming in. I called immediately and was told this for my monthly HBO. I said I already paid a year in advance. 5 months, 3 letters, and 5 phone calls later, they turned off my service and say I owe $150 or so, without ever responding to a letter and agreeing on the phone that I did indeed pay a year in advance for HBO but that the Cinemax deal only came with monthly HBO, so for some reason I owe most of the year\'s HBO! Such a deal! I tried to speak with a manager since I now have no t.v., but \"Philip,\" the floor supervisor, won\'t put me through or give me a name. It is beyond frustrating.
