Dish Network Corporate Communications / Mariel, Crisanto, Jr., Michelle Non-disclosure of program packaging information Nationwide

Below is a copy of the transcript printed from the Dish Network website. I'm referencing the previous transcript made when I subscribed to Dish on 12/5. My advice is be VERY careful when dealing with these satellite providers. In spite of the fact that I printed a copy of the subscription transcript, which shows my question about ESPN was completely ignored, leading me to think it was NOT an issue, Dish provided no remedy for their own negligence. "Buyer Beware" and "The devil is in the details!" seem quite appropriate for the way Dish Network does business...

Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): Hi, my name is Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6). How may I help you?
Brenda Mac Donald: Yes, I subscribed to Dish on 12/5 and was supposed to have service on 12/6 but due to inclement weather, it's been postponed until 12/8. The question I have is, do I get ESPN with the Smart Pack because I specifically asked for it...
Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): Hello. Good morning. I'd be glad to assist you with this.
Brenda Mac Donald: In reading the transcript, I see Mariel avoided answering that question...
Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): I see. No worries, I'd be glad to help you out with this.
Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): By the way, how are you doing today?
 Brenda Mac Donald: OK
Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): I see. That's nice to know.
Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): As I checked, ESPN is not included with the Smart pack. However, it's available with:
 Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): America's Top 120 ($49.99)
America's Top 120+ ($59.99)
America's Top 200 ($64.99)
America's Top 250 ($74.99)
America's Everything Pack ($119.99)
Dish America ($39.99)
Brenda Mac Donald: Then why didn't Mariel answer my question about ESPN when I asked?
Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): I really do apologize if that information was not disclosed to you, Brenda.
Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): You may also visit this helpful link in order for you to check the packages that we offer and the channel line up.
 Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6) http://www.mydish.com/upgrades/english-packages/?WT.svl=gsearch_results
Brenda Mac Donald: My question was totally ignored, unanswered and I see from your list of what I do get with the Smart PACK that it's lame. I thought Dish was supposed to be better than DirecTV. I guess that's only if you pay outrageous prices for you premium packages. Is this the case?
Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): I really do apologize if you feel that way, Brenda.
Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): When you compare DISH to our competitors, we continue to offer the best equipment, best value, and the lowest everyday programming prices in the pay-TV industry.
Brenda Mac Donald: Why do you include as desired channels your own Dish channels? I should not be paying to view info that should be provided free of charge...
Brenda Mac Donald: PLEASE PROVIDE THE NAME AND CONTACT INFORMATION FOR YOUR SUPERVISOR, ALTHOUGH I SUSPECT I WILL GET THE SAME RUNAROUND. THE TRANSCRIPT I PRINTED OFF BLATANTLY SHOWS A NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF DISH NETWORK TO PROVIDE HONEST INFORMATION TO ITS CUSTOMERS. I WOULD HATE TO HAVE TO REPORT THIS AS ANOTHER RIPOFF REPORT OF CONSUMERS...
Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): May I ask if what channels are referring?
Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): Okay, one moment please.
Brenda Mac Donald: DISH NETWORK FYI & DISHHOME
Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6): Your satisfaction is very important to us, so I would like to transfer you to an account specialist for further assistance. I appreciate your patience; please hold while I transfer you at this time.
Crisanto Jr.  (ID: 3K6) has disconnected.
Michelle (ID: GP5): Hi, my name is Michelle (ID: GP5). How may I help you?
Michelle (ID: GP5): Thank you for contacting the customer loyalty department at DISH. Please give me a few moments to review the previous chat. If you need to reference this chat my name is Michelle and my operator ID is GP5. I am looking forward to helping you today.
Michelle (ID: GP5): Hello Brenda. I see that you are concerned that a question on ESPN and the Smart Pack was not answered upon placing your order. Is that correct?
Brenda Mac Donald: Yes, Mariel answered the question about A&E but completely ignored my question about ESPN...
Michelle (ID: GP5): I do apologize. I do see that the list of packages that ESPN was listed. They are:
America's Top 120 ($49.99)
America's Top 120+ ($59.99)
America's Top 200 ($64.99)
America's Top 250 ($74.99)
America's Everything Pack ($119.99)
Dish America ($39.99)

The Top 120 and above will have new customer discounts that can be applied.
Brenda Mac Donald: I want ESPN for the amount I agreed to pay...
Michelle (ID: GP5): I am sorry. ESPN is not in the Smart Pack. The best I can for you is get you into a package that has ESPN.
Brenda Mac Donald: No, thanks, I can't afford anymore money. I hope Mariel didn't also ignore my request for not using Autopay. That would just be one more thing to report to the RipOff Report website. Thanks for your great customer service. So much for wanting to make your customers happy. Have a great day!

Is it too much to ask to expect ethics in business?

When I "chat" with representatives of a company, I expect answers to ANY questions I ask, full and complete disclosure, which I did NOT receive from Mariel. Since this is in a typed format, it's not like she/he could say they forgot I asked. I SPECIFICALLY asked about ESPN and A&E at the same time. The response should have been that the Smart Pack does not include either. Instead Mariel responded with A&E is not included, completely ignoring the reference I made to ESPN. I should not have to ask the question a second time. It should have been answered the first time. That was Mariel's job and he/she failed to do their job correctly. As far as scamming for ESPN, in truth I did not expect Dish Network to do the right thing. I merely proved my point that Dish Network doesn't care anymore about customer satisfaction and ethical business practices than any other company, although they advertise themselves that way. But, as shown, they do not practice what they preach. My ripoff report was simply a means of warning others to make sure they get answers to EVERY question they ask and don't assume anything with these greedy, unethical corporations. But thank you for your view on this issue DA. You wouldn't happen to work for Dish, would you?  LOL

So they DO answer the question and in the very transcript you threaten them with iternet blackmail BECAUSE they wont give you ESPN on a package that its not carried on. WOW!! Self entitled much? You do realize that they only offer so many packages. If ESPN is NOT offered on the package you chose, which would have been listed when you signed up for your services. Just because they did not answer your question in the conversation you previously had is no reason to attempt BLACKMAIL!! THATS WHAT SCAMMERS DO!!! SO because they wouldnt just GIVE you ESPN on the  package that YOU chose you feel its alright to act in this manner.

WHY SHOULD THEY GIVE YOU SOMETHING FOR NOTHING??? Ok so they did not answer your question. Get over it. It doesnt ENTITLE you to anything OTHER then what you have paid for. YOU ARE THE SCAMMER!!!!!
