From the beginning i signed up for the basic package with dish and they gave me three free months of extras (extra channels, extra movies etc.) After the first month instead of reverting back to the basic package that i originally requested they just let the high priced premium package roll over sending me a bill over double what i had signed up for. I spent a ridiculous amount of time on the phone being transferred around to different phone monkeys each telling me they had no way to help me, until after a very long time and a lot of frustration my bill was put back on track. Dish made every effort to force me into their most expensive package available when all i wanted was basic basic.

After that fiasco a few months later i had to cancel with Dish. When i signed up Dish promoted their package with a combination deal including internet from Century Link. Im not frustrated with Century Link at all they were civil, helpful, and all of their phone technicians could be clearly and easily understood. However at the time, i had to cancel with both Dish and Century Link at the same time for a cancellation fee that was easily over 500 dollars. I paid Century Link off easily because they were clear and straightforward about their billing. Dish however started off by telling me i couldn't just pay and cancel, i had to put my account on hold for up to a year, until i had enough money to pay the entire owed amount in full. So i did put my account on hold. I also recieved a prepaid box from dish to put all of their equipment in to send back, so i packaged it up and sent it back. Then next thing you know i recieve a call from a collections agency saying that i owed over 1200 and that they were calling to collect. I called Dish to piece together the puzzle and they told me that i had neglected to pay the 5$ per month fee to keep my account on hold so it had gone to collections. No one ever told me there was any fee. No one told me my account was being sent to collections. Two months after sending the package with all of the equipment in it Im getting collection calls about missing equipment and an unpaid balance.

Every time i call Dish some moron phone monkey tells me everything is ok and being taken care of, first they said i could put my account on hold at no extra cost. LIE. Then they said they would inform me when the equipment came in. LIE. They are so unbelievable shady, all of their tech support just lies to get off the phone with a customer that they dont have the knowledge to help properly. So after being screwed repeatedlyl i finally recieved a call from the collections agency saying that my remaining balance on the bill was 340.00 and that was all i would have to pay to cancel with dish completely. I was told that my equipment had been recieved and that if i paid that last amount i would be free and clear. I asked for proof over email and got the technicians name. Again LIES i paid the 340.00 and the outstanding balance from dish was still 800 some dollars and they still had collections against me. No email with proof was sent, and i was again swindled out of more money.

Keep in mind there is no way to talk to anyone face to face, all of these idiots over the phone are trained to say, sorry, there is no corporate office, you have to deal with us over the phone. SO shady, Dish network is a bunch of theives and liars. Remember i did not have any complaints with Century Link, they were excellent and easy to cancel with. Dish network however is the mother of all disgusting shady corporations. They will squeeze you for every dollar. The luxury of cable is no where near worth the cost of all of this hassle. They say they pride themselves on having the best customer service in the world and it is by far the worst. Rude unhelpful employees who are more than happy to repeat the same things over and over again and then pass you on to someone else. I have nothing good to say about Dish or its employees i hope the business fails miserably.

CJ Brewer,

We'd hate to see you go and are very happy you had chosen us as your provider.  The information about how the promotion works should've been gone over with you upon setting it up on your account.  Please email me your account number at michael.lemar@dish.com so I can get this all straightened out.  Thanks!
