Purchased the dish network for my internet connection about a month ago, in four days my service became much slower than the dsl i replaced.  I cqalled the technical support to be told that i has exceed my 5 gigs of data and the speed would be slowed down.

Since I had not even used my computer very much during that four day period I complained that that could nt be possible.  They just said in effect "to bad", live with it.  Well not being one to give up I tried to bump it up to the next level of supervision and was quickley disconnected, tried two more times same result.

I was pretty upset so I went to the web to find the facts on what would consitiute 5 gigs of data, a article written by ATT and published in Fortune 500 (republished on CNN Money.com) outlined the volume of data that should be possible with a 2 gig plan with ATT.  And, reviewing my usage, there was no way that we used the volume as outlined.

So I called Dish network back and got to a supervisor, and explained my issues, reviewed the facts I had discovered and asked for a Dish explaninatiom of what should be expecte to compair to the other date I found.  They were rude, disrespectiful and would not respond to my request except to say they did not have that type of data.
In fact the off hours data limit was exceeded as well when all my electronic equipment has been turned off.

So my conclusion, without any data from dish network, is that they must use a different equation built into their modem to calculate data flow than what is apparently industry standards, so do not purchase this product if you want to have at least dsl speed, because with very little usage, you will be slowed down to sub par dsl speed.  At least this has my experience with the disjh netwaor connection, and their clame that they are the best customer servicve .

They told me that there is software built into the modum to do the calculations, my conclusion would be from this there must be many other users that are experiencing the same issues with this service.

2) Is your Internet set for WiFi as well?

3) If yes for #2, is it password protected?

4) How many devices connect to the Internet?

5) Is the limit included both download & upload usage?
