Odrered Dish Network 7/31/09. Salesman promised to provide us with four boxes - 2 HD-DVR + 2 Digital. When installer arrived he only had two boxes - 1 digital and 1 HD-DVR. He said the two boxes would be used to control four rooms. He also told us that there would be an additional monthly fee because we don't have a land line. When we questioned him on this, he pretty much told us that they will tell you anything to get you to sign up. I then started thinking if the price the salesman quoted us would really be our actual charge. I declined the installation and sent the installer away. I would make sure you get everything in writing before you agree to installation.

your right some salemans will say just about anything to get you to take it. but if they brought either 2 vip 722 or 2 vip 942 that would have gotten you what you wanted 2 boxes 4 tuners. 2 hd dvr's tuners and 2 standard dvr's tuner. you would have gotten 4dvr's . by connectiong the phone line to the dual tuners it would saved you 10.00 dollars a month. one of the benifit of having a dual tuner . but also if you had a broadband conection in the house it could have connected to tuners also. something the installer forgot to tell you. i dont know if you called dish network directly or a local dealer. but it doesnt take much to call around to the local dealers to find an experienced one. ive been doing this 25 years now. ive even given the customer a blank copy of the contract. now dish network reserves the right to change the rules of the contract and the price of programming . without any written or verbal communication form dish network. but it would have given the information you needed . a lot of people think that all dealers and installer are the same. i have two friends that possibly can work on my installs. i havent found any of the dish or directv installers able to work on anything i do. im able to set 2 dual tuners in one location .so you can watch all 4 tuners on any tv in the house. also when they want the dvd player and the local antenna along with the 4 tuners. i dont believe their is such a thing as a standard install. because every customers needs are different................
