After six months of Dish Network we went back to cable. The original $45.00 deal ended up being $69.00 a month. Our cable company agreed to buy us out of our contract and I called Dish to cancel. The customer service rep asked why and foolishly, I told her. This led to 45 minutes of haggling by the rep, who matched cable's offer and insisted I didn't need to cancel after all. Finally, she closed the account and mailed out the boxes we need to send our equipment back in.

Last night another Dish rep called asking how they could earn our business back? I said they couldn't. He had the numbers in front of him from my initial conversation and he was blunt and matter of fact. He stated because Dish matched cable's offer, I was going to be reconnected to the Dish service that night and the $25 recconect fee would be waived.

I yelled "do NOT reconnect me!" He calmly went on to list the new receiver boxes that would be mailed to me and I again told him (loudly) "do not reconnect me and do not call my home again" and hung up.

I am furious about this and would like to know who at Dish decided that harrassment and strong-arm tactics were part of a good business model?
