I was offeed the Dish Network package by Bell South when they discontinued service. I thought it was a great deal...three months free w/no installation charge. Sadly, I provided my debit card number for automatic bill-pay. First, it took them 45 days to install the equipment, so I was without service for half of the free intro time. They neglected to bring two receivers as agreed, so I paid them $300 for a PVR, which I found very useful. However,they sent me THREE used and defective receivers before I finally received the factory-direct unit I expected in the first place. Now they are offering the PVR for FREE!!!

They deducted payments two weeks prior to the dates agreed upon and refused to make adustments, which cost me $500 in NSF charges, which they refused to assist me with. They refused to issue credits for the second unit THEY neglected to provide, refused to credit me for time without service and continued to deduct payments from my debit card until I was forced to close my account.

I absolutely LOVE the service, but I HATE feeling helpless and without recourse in the face of this Behomoth monster.

I finally reported them to the FTC, FCC, BBB and every other watchdog I could think of when I heard that they planned to buy out DirecTV. Perhaps one of them can reign them in before they destroy someone else's bank account.
