I was a long-term customer in good standing that always paid my bill on time. Then I called Dish Network to cancel my service prior to a move. I made my call in time to make sure that I wouldn't be billed for another month and had a zero balance at the time.

While trying to cancel my service, they insisted that I needed to wait on hold to talk to their account retention specialist. After a long wait, I asked several times to speak with a supervisor but was told that none were available. Unfortunately, the entire "Customer Service Dept" (if you can call it that) must have been having coffee and doughnuts because after 15 minutes on hold they STILL didn't have anyone for me to speak with. I finally gave up and just told their representative that I couldn't wait any longer and asked her to simply deliver my request to her supervisor.

But Dish Network decided to ignore my request and kept billing me anyway for another couple of months. I made several subsequent calls and also sent several emails again requesting to have my service discontinued as of my original request date. They ignored all of my requests, acted rude and accusatory on the phone and actually tried to blame me for not being able to discontinue my service. The true source of the problem was their inadequate staffing levels and very poor customer service policies.

Then it went to 2 consecutive collection agencies and they ultimately put a negative/non paying comment on my credit report.

I am now prepared to enter into a Class Action Lawsuit with Dish Network. It's not about the money (only $60.00), THIS IS ABOUT A SYSTEMATIC PATTERN OF ABUSING THEIR CUSTOMERS. Anyone doubting the abusive policies of Dish Network should perform a Google search and you will find THOUSANDS of similar complaints about similar billing issues.

They seem to think that putting their dollars into collection agencies rather than into their customer service dept is a viable strategy. Do they think that everyone is just going to roll over and pay their unreasonable demands when the problem is obviously their own?? DISH is a huge, publicly traded corporation and they should definitely know better than to treat people like this.

For me, this is a matter of principle - Unfortunately, they will have to learn the hard way that trying to intimidate their good customers into paying for their shortcomings will only backfire in the end. The moral of the story??

* * * DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH DISH NETWORK ! ! ! * * *

MANY thousands of people have very much regretted the day that they decided to do business with such corporate tyrants !
