My problems with Dish Network started in August of 2005. 10 minutes after they installed my three room satellite system the receiver quit working. I had to call their tech support who shipped me out a used receiver after they told me that the installer installed a bum receiver. I've had to call Dish Network for assistance at least two times per week on average, have had receivers replaced four times, and had technicians on-site three times trying to troubleshoot problems. It's been an ongoing struggle.

In December of 2006 we bought an HDTV. I was assured that the Dish Network HD receiver was a high quality device. We got it installed and paid for HD programming. Three days after installation the receiver would not pick up an HD signal. I called tech support and after two hours on the phone they determined that someone should come on-site to take a look to see why we weren't getting a signal.

A technician came to the house and fiddled with the satellite. Soon after, he left. Not only do we not have HD programming but we have NO programming now as the receiver does not work at all.

I called Dish Network tech support to cancel my service because I am fed up. I am told that the $200 HD installation charge for the non-existant HD programming is nonrefundable. WHAT? Dish Network is stiffing me for $200 for an HD receiver and programming that never worked? I asked for a refund of the $200 and was told that according to company policy that charge is nonrefundable.

Their tech support is absolutely worthless. I'd agree with every complaint on this site about Dish Network. Take your business elsewhere. Their business seems to be screwing the common man out of their hard earned money.

I will not hesitate to tell everyone I know how poorly I have been treated by Dish Network.
