I saw the Dish Network ad on tv for 24 months of service locked in at $24.95 the first 12 months and $34.95 the last 12 months. My first thru third months bills came in at 29.95 and when I called to question this I was told that $5 was for equipment insurance.I infomed the company that I had not requested this and they agreed to remove it.I was not reimbursed for this error. The next months bill came in at 24.95.   The following month the bill was back at $29.95 and this time when I called I was told that my contract specified that the company had a clause in my contract that allowed them to raise my rate at any time they felt like it.I informed them of their tv ad guaranteeing a locked in rate for 24 months and was told once again to read my contract and if I had a problem with that cancel my contract and pay an early termination fee over $200,they would also be happy to send boxes for me pack the equipment in so I could take it to a ups pickup and  return it to them, the person rather rudley asked if that was what I wanted as she would gladly send the boxes that day.I  declined.   I stewed on this matter for another 5 months and finally decided that I was  not going to be blackmailed in this manner.I called and cacelled.I have read my service agreement several times and cannot find said clause.I am now receiving threats that if I do not restart my service my credit card will be charged a $227.50  canellation fee. They are still running these ads.  So I say beware these  misleading ads for Dish Network.

Why is it that dish network can continue with their lie about guaranteed rates.does anybody read the contract they sign,i know i didn't.has anybody taken the time to make it known about the clause that gives diish network the right to increase the rates any time they want to because thats what they did to me.in fact i didn't sign the contract,i still have it,i told the installer i would not sign a contract,he was o.k. with that. I have requested a copy of the contract i supposedly signed numerous times and they say that they will send me one but it never comes. While nobody challenges them on this it will continue. What use is it filing a report with ripoff.com if nothing is ever done about it.I must assume that this site is toothless, just somewhere to vent without causing any harm to these companies.

Hi there Ron! I happened to read your post & I'm extremely sorry to hear about all these issues you have experienced with DISH Network. I'll introduce myself, my name is Michael Hurst & I work for DISH Network, in our Executive Resolutions Department & I would be more then happy to help you get this resolved. The fee for the equipment warranty would have been provide for free for a period of time and if you continued to keep this warranty then there would be a fee. You have the option to keep it or to remove this feature. The increase that you are referring to sounds like a price increase at the beginning of the year that is sometime unavoidable when contracts are negotiated with program owners. I would be happy to assist you with this, Since this is a public forum you can e-mail me if you'd like with any additional information & then you & I can work together and definitely make sure we get this all fixed for you! My email is michael.hurst@dishnetwork.com.
