Complaint Review: DISH TV

I entered into a contract with DISH TV on March 25, 2001.

In November, requested a move to another location. Was told I would have to pay a charge of $25.00 for move, I asked if it could be added onto my bill. This was approved.

Earlier this month I wanted to find out when my contract would be up, I was told March 25, 2002. I proceeded to visit my local cable company to get cable. I just found out today that I signed up for another year. I was told by three different people that I still had another year to go. I advised them, rather heatedly, that I was not aware of that.

I was told by supervisor that I had signed up for another year, by accepting the $75.00 moving fee. No one ever told me about that. All I remember them telling me was that I had to fulfil my contract.

Now I cannot get out of this contract until December 20th. Everytime I called this company, I was told a different story. I could go on, however, the reason I am contacting your company is because this company needs to be dealt with. I think it is called consumer fraud.

I feel like I am at the Eagles, Hotel California, "You can check out, but you can never leave."
