Dish tv 99% reliability claim they advertise on tv
Dish is now running a new TV commercial stating that they have a 99% reliability and that they're showing the TV is not going out during a storm. In this commercial they are showing a guy laying on the couch and the TV never goes out....It's false b*******. Don't believe the hype that they are trying to create. Their TV signal goes out every single storm.

99% reliability means that in a year, you can expect to have 88 hours of outages. That's actually a very low level of reliability, which is consistent with your experience. In comparison, a landline phone is about 99.999% reliable (5 minutes of downtime per year, aka "five nines").

subscription with Dish and purchase an antennae, like millions of Americans are doing. Most areas in the U.S. can pick up over 30 free channels including Network Stations, PBS Stations, and many others.
You can also mail a copy of your Ripoff Report to Dateline NBC and to 60 Minutes in New York. If this is happening to you, it’s probably happening to others. Maybe one of them will contact you and do a story on National TV.
Both addresses to Dateline NBC and to 60 Minutes are available at this site. Just type in 271771 and the addresses appear in Consumer Comment #1 at Ripoff Report 271771.
Good luck to you!
