Dishnetwork - Echostar They don't look for your success, they want your errors Internet
They have a great ad on the internet. $60- 80K, no micromanagement, unlimited income potential. 2 week training starts. Day 3 the word non negotiables shows up. We have no clue, but they demand we sign a non negotiable list, otherwise, you cannot continue with training. We all need the job and sign. Bottom line, the list we signed are " all" the possible "errors" you could make on the job which could result in your termination. We still need the job and all sign. Over and over again they state this is the best training class, as they have improvised the hiring process to make you feel better. You take many tests, only one which is returned to you, and you feel good.
You are sent to the incoming calls sales floor 2 weeks later, not prepared for the computer operation,as you have had limited training in this area, so if you have a question on a call, simply raise your hand and a couch will be there. Not quite that simple. You have to go find one, and the only one that came around to help was Bob. No one else.
Team meeting daily emphasize how lousy you are doing and that they need more sales. Never a mention to non negotiables. Your coach rovers around constantly checking your results telling you he needs more sales.
Paycheck time comes and some on your team are receiving half of what their paycheck should be. I feel sorry for them as this was never discussed during training, the interview or their job ads. I ask my boss how can I improve my closing ratio, and get absolutely no response. They want your sales and do not care about your closing ratio or your paycheck.
From what I discerned, the coaches are looking out for your errors and not your accomplishments. Yes, they have their favorites, as our number 1 salesperson wasn good standing with the coach, but he was making severe errors along the way. We got to listen to one of his phone calls, the only one, and in this call he promisses over $2000 in merchandise to his customer for free. I and 2 peers heard this phone call infront of our coach. He said nothing to us.
I had a minor infraction for leaving customer confidential info on my notepad too long. the coach called me on this and it did not happen again. 13 days after this infraction, he writes me up for a non negotiable and tells me he had too in a dark room. what he did not tell me is that this is a final warning, subject to termination. I sign like an idiot thinking it is standard protocol. The next day I am fired.
I won the unemployment benefits until they filed an appeal. Of course, they have a law firm, and they won the appeal. I goes back to the original form you sign on day three claiming you will not violate their non negotiable list, which is a list of all possible errors that can happen.
Bottom line, I misunderstood the non negotiable list and made a mistake. I assumed all was well, but with this company, if they don't like you, one mistake is you ticket to unemployment. They have MBA's and college graduates working there, as there are no jobs now and this company will take you. Yes, a revolving door. I was in the top 10% of the sales force, constantly congratulated by my coach, but in the end, someone did not like me and wanted me out. They win, I lose. Not a good choice if you are ambitious. My coach came from Dr. Dish and had little to show for it, other than his disdain for his bosses requests of him.
Good product, misdirected training, and unqualified coaching. You will average 30k as an average sales person, but it could be less. You will never make 70k as the purport.
Find something else. They doc you for potty breaks, too much time on breaks even if you take no lunch, and they monitor your computer constantly. they should work for the dept of homeland security as they know every minute of your day and can document it. So much for we do not micromanage our employees.
They will fight all attempts to pay unemployment insurance, so remember, you are in for a fight. If you quit, no money. If they fire you, no money. go figure. They honestly do not care about you, as they have 10 people waiting in line to take your place and they know it.
Call or email me if you want to fight them on unemployment insurance claims. I will not let them win.
