DCS contacted me more than once at each number on a daily basis and threatened every action including a lawsuit because my student loan defaulted during the time my forbearance with the loan carrier was being processed. So while I was getting treated like a pincushion and loaded on my chemo drugs, (the reason for the forbearance in the first place), this company did not relent and called my employer to request a wage garnishment the week my loan went into a default.

It was the law firm I work for that warned about this company's tactics. Although DCS was told I was out on FMLA by my employer and the original loan was being processed for a forbearance, they did not stop.

Finally, I agreed to pay them an amount that could make Donald Trump smile to shut them up, I was on really bad meds at the time. However, when I received their paperwork I learned that their "repayment plan" is nothing more than coughing up an exhorbitant amount each month, and that in the end of the "rehabilitation period" the fee was nearly 20% of the loan amount. Essentially, the loan is bigger after making a year's worth of payments and their is no reprieve for anyone unable to work due to a disability.

I talked with the "loan counselor" and explained my situation, she replied that once I made the requisite number of payments, 11 more, in the Trump style amount and the loan goes back to the lender with the 18.5% fee, then we could discuss forbearance. According to my "loan counselor" no diabilitites are considered, so I asked "what if I die", it was on my mind. Nope, there is no grace or reprieve for the breastless, hairless woman and dying is the only way to get out of thier grip. So here's my dilemma --continue paying the shylock collection agency who shouldn't have collected in the first place or my doctors who are keeping me alive so DCS can chase me?
