Complaint Review: DM Motors

We bought a car from this dealer.  A 2006 Chevy Impala - basically the cheapest model they made. We put $1,500 down.  It is a buy here pay here dealer because we have bad credit after both going through a divorce.  They sold us a car worth about $5,000 for $10,999.  They didn't tell us how much our monthly payments were until after we signed the papers.  We paid $195.00 biweekly and 17% interest which they also didn't tell us until after we signed the papers.  We get the car home and a week later I had to buy a new tire because the right front had a hole in the side wall. The car needed a new muffler, it was so loud you couldn't even carry on a conversation.  Then the headlight bulb went out which I understand happens, but then the car wouldn't start one day, and then the tail light bulb burnt out, next the power steering pump went out and finally, the car started to overheat.  We live almost 2 hours away from this place so bringing it in to get serviced was not an option for us.  I called and left several messages asking them what I could do.  After a while I got fed up and on a Saturday drove the car up there, left it with them and said here I want my money back.  They said the business person wasn't in so I could call them on Monday.  I called her and left a message.  Tuesday I called again because they had taken ANOTHER $195.00 PAYMENT out of my bank account.  I didn't have the car anymore so by this time i was IRATE!  I called again and left another message.  The woman I talked to, SUSAN, was very rude.  She said she did everything she could for me but could not give me my down payment back.  So we drove a car for a month and a half and are out over $2,000.  This place is ridiculous! They set people up to fail.  They sell crappy cars for a high price and then don't stand behind them.  NOT A GOOD BUSINESS! THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE!!!
