DNS Services , DNSsvc.com Almost scammed by fake invoice for DNS services, very misleading way to troll for money Vancouver, Washington
Received a very official looking invoice with an account number, detailing an amount due for an annual fee for my commercial website. The invoice resembles a utility bill, and it comes with its own envelope. There is little description provided for services, other than "primary domain" (and my website address).
I did not recognize this company as an entity I do business with so I looked further.
Buried in the fine print, I found this tiny little sentence: "This is a solicitation for the order of goods or services, or both..." This is so easy to miss, and I am sure countless firms with websites have been scammed.
Obviously, this scammer harvested my dns information from a "whois lookup" and is taking advantage of companies who are vigilant with keeping up with domain name hosting fees.
