Doan Dodge-Kia Tried to get us to pay for covered repairs mistreated and ripped off abused & mistreated Rochester New York
My husband and I bought a '96 Plymouth Voyager minivan from Doan Dodge in May 2000. Our salesman John Schneider told us another mini van we were really interested because it was newer and had lower mileage had already been sold to someone else.
While trying to sell us the less-desirable van, Mr. Schneider commented he "hadn't been able to unload it on anyone." We, unfortunately, discovered why that summer: the transmission seized - leaving my husband in the vehicle without power in the middle of a busy expressway.
Their finance person also told us we could only get financing if we bought an expensive extended warranty, which we did.
When my husband took the vehicle back to Doan for repairs, he discovered a hole in the transmission that had previously been plugged up. WE WERE NEVER INFORMED OF THIS MAJOR REPAIR/FLAW BY MR. SCHNEIDER BEFORE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE. My husband also saw the minivan we were really interested in buying still sitting on their lot.
The repair people also told my husband we were responsible for the cost of replacing the transmission - even though we had an extended warranty in place. Thank goodness a manager stepped in and said we owed them nothing.
In short, we should have been: 1.) sold the vehicle we were really interested in, 2.) told of the temporary repair to the transmission before we bought the minivan, and sold the less-than-desirable minivan at a much lesser price than $399 monthly - considering its major flaw.

Back when you purchased your vehicle, Doan Dodge and Kia had a poor team of managers and sales staff.
At that time, half of the sales staff were into drugs, gambling and heavy drinking which lead them to lie steal and cheat their customers.
As for their finance manager I will refrain from saying his name, (but if he ever reads this, you know who you are) telling you in order to get financed you need an extended warranty? well, he told you that in order to line his pocket. Unfortunately, that arrogant punk still works there and knows how to make money for his employer and himself.
The sales management team has improved and some new sales associates are now there.
Best of luck on your next purchase.
