Complaint Review: Doberland

I purchased the female Doberman Alexa from Lipar Land, based on the information and pictures in the ad on puppyfind and via phone conversations with Margo Richards.  I was led to believe that this "AKC registered show dog" had successfully passed the Canine Good Citizen and was also provided with a certificate of graduation from the Springfield, Missouri Dog Training Club guaranteeing certain standards of behavior. I was told that she was an experienced show dog and that she was, in your words, "a little heavy."  

The pictures and one very short video lasting a few seconds, the information exchanged over the phone and the internet did not convey nor prepare me for her actual physical condition and level of training, or lack thereof.  I did not anticipate being literally shocked by her appearance upon her arrival at the cargo depot at my airport.  The pictures you provided did not show her sagging abdomen and teats indicating that she had recently whelped a litter of puppies. You did not prepare me for her physical appearance and when I talked to you about this over the phone upon her arrival you said you "assumed" I knew and then you said not to worry because her condition would resolve itself in a couple of weeks when in actuality, according to my vet, it can take months and that there is no guarantee she would look like she did as a show dog.

I paid you $2000 for a Serbian show dog which is precisely how you marketed her.  

Furthermore, her obedience level is atrocious.  It does not even come close to the standards set forth by AKC Canine Good Citizen.  She doesn't even respond to "sit."  At the very least, I expected this dog to be able to respond to the simplest of commands which she is clearnly not demonstrating.  She doesn't even respond to her own name.  She counter surfs for food, she has been destructive in my home, chewing leather furniture, rifling through garbage, and not listening.

Alexa's appearance and comportment are not that of a show dog nor one that has passed Canine Good Citizen.  This dog is not what I paid for. I am not new to Dobermans.  I have forty years of experience with the breed.  When I tried communicating with Margo Richards she texted back to "leave me alone."  And I have not heard from her since.
