DOCK 24 OR SHAMIC & CO SCAM many ripoff reports filed *REBUTTAL Company owner; I appologize
11 July 01 I ordered a daybed for 679.99 from the internet company dock24 and paid for it with my Mastercard. They told me to expect a 7 to 9 week delivery time. After 9 weeks I sent a E mail to them and received a reply from Wendy @doc24552@cs.com.
She told me that "all the orders placed with dock24 couldn't be filled since their merger with Shamic & Co. We would like to cancel the order, credit your card and reorder with our new system." That sounded reasonable so I agreed and they sent me a new order number.
Two days later I called my credit card co. to see if they had credited my account. They had not. I then sent another e mail to Wendy and she replied that they had sent the refund to my credit co. and for some reason it isn't showing up on my end. Also she informed me that the bed was ready for shipment and would be sent as soom as I straightened out the credit problem. I called my credit card co. and they said that they had difinitely not received the refund.
After checking your Web page I now know what all the stalling is about. I then tried to call their 800 telephone number and was connected to a company in Maryland by the name of Cap World who said that they didn't have an 800 number. I called the number a second time to ensure that I hadn't misdialed and got the same co. Obviously I along with several others who have registered with your Web page have been ripped of by dock24/Shamic & Co.

To whom it may concern: I honestly have no idea what you are speaking of in regards to the 800-527-0064 phone line. It rings into our norfolk office and have honestly never heard of Cap world.
If you were getting another company I appologize, but have never heard of this before. If you would provide us with your name and order # I will try to do all I can.
Yes, we have gone through a merger change and have been going forward but it has been an experiance! If you had originally ordered from Dock24 and have not received your credit, you need to call your bank and request a credit charge back against Dock24.
I appologize for this but Dock24 has gone under, and Shamic is the new company, and we WILL not charge a customer,until they have received there money back from the dock24 systems. I sincerely appologize for the inconveniance we have caused you
and all of our customers. I hope that we can in some way help you, and I would be more than happy to reorder the bed for you at a discounted price or send you a gift certificate. I am truly sorry that the service has been so bad, but it looks like we are going to have more staff on board in the next 2 wks. We went from 10 to 3 staffers and our customers have been suffering due to it. I look forward to hearing from you.
