My friends have a mortgage that was sold to Ocwen last year. Since that time, they have had nothing but trouble and an ungodly amount of erroneous charges that Ocwen refuses to send documentation of.

When they asked for a statement of their account, they received just a notice stating the amount of their last payment.

No record of any payments credited or the dates received, or an explanation of the charges they claimed were due have ever been sent even though they have been requested numerous times.

They have been threatend foreclosure over payments that had already cleared my friends bank and then they were charged late payments on them.

All they got was, well, that is when they posted, even though they were sent in PLENTY of time to arrive by the said due date.

I decided to do a little research and see if there are any other complaints. Needless to say, they are not the only ones. They are experiencing the same problems that everyone else is describing.

How can they get away with this? Loopholes that allow for legal loansharking. Any suggestions and/or lawsuits that can help would be appreciated.

My friends are busting their a*s to send these ripoff artists their money to keep the roof over their heads, and the company just finds more ways to take their money without touching the original loan amount.

They would like to refinance, but the late claims, which the company has made no effort to show them on paper, Ocwen have hindered that process.

I have read some of the rebuttals by "supporters of the company" and to them I say, yes, the obligation to pay is there, but the company has an obligation to practice proper and fair business practices.

From the amount of complaints, it is obvious that this company is in the business of charging as many fees as possible, with the goal of forcing forclosure on properties to profit themselves.

I have total sympathy for the people being ripped off by these sharks and they must be stopped. I for one will tell everyone that I know looking for mortgages to steer clear of these "legal" scam artists.
