Today, Jan.14,2001 at 4pm, my boyfriend and I were driving away from the Home Depot in Las Vegas when a large Latin/American guy flagged us down. We rolled down the window and he told us he delivered audio equipment and that he had been mistakenly given an extra set of sweet speakers and that he wanted to sell them quick because he couldn't take them back to the shop as he'd have to give them back. He went through the whole song and dance....showed us the speakers, paper work, web site info, huge price on the box of $1500 each and explaining about them and how to hook them up, etc....He was driving a white mini van, Plymoth Voyager, with Nevada plates 938 NYG and was wearing a HUGE crusifix. Even though the old addage,"if a deal seems to great than it is" was playing full time in my head, we bought the speakers for $300. I came home and immediately found on the web that we had indeed been ripped off. We took a stupid shot and lost but I just hope that this will keep someone else from being ripped off.
