I used Dolce Vita to repair my equipment one time a few months ago. Our business is located in West Hollywood which is known for having a higher number of gay residents. During the repair, Matthew Schwartz, the owner and sole operator of Dolce Vita, made several tongue in cheek remarks about the sexual orientation of our patrons and employees. I tried to ignore figuring he must have some poor sense of humor. I paid him for stopping by and that was it. Today I contacted him to have my machine looked at again and this is the email I received:

You will need to find a gay espresso repair tech  I'm quite serious

Matthew is clearly homophobic and a sad, pathetic human being. If you would like to support bigots then by all means do business with this man.

Mr. Quinones conveniently does not include the second email I sent to him in which I explicitly describe the reason I will not do business with him.  This has nothing to do with homophobia, in fact I am the victim here.  His is a gay establishment with personnel that were extremely hostile to me as a gender-straight technician when I attempted a service call several months ago, and I was so uncomfortable I left almost immediately. and I explained this to him, and he AGREED with me that my version of the facts was probably correct.   My second email further outlines the fact that gender discrimination goes both ways and this is unfortunately what I experienced.  Mr Quinones, I suggest you put up my second email so the full version of these events can be viewed by all.
