I rented a car from BNA airport. It was due on March 12 and I returned it on the 14th. I was aware of the extra fees incurred for 2 extra days, and had no complaints regarding this.

Previously when I rented this car I was very satisfied with the service. I looked forward to renting from Dollar Rent-A-Car on subsequent occasions. I travel very often, and I rent a car, at least4-5 times per-year, for a week to two weeks at a time. This was my third rental from Dollar.

Previously, I rented from dollar in California from the LAX airport and in Providence, Rode Island. This time I rented for the purpose of repairing my car.

Before I returned the car I filled up at a gas station approximately 6 miles from the airport. The closest gas station is 5-6 miles from the airport.

When I got my final bill, I expected to pay extra fees for the 2 extra days but there was an additional charge of 13 dollars and change for gas. The attendant (Cynthia) stated that if I have a receipt from a gas station within 10 miles of the airport that the charge would be remitted.

I returned to the gas station to retrieve my receipt for that gas charge. When I returned to the rental desk I spoke to a second attendant assuming that the judgment on the dispute would be consistent from one attendant to another. When I submitted the receipt, the second attendant then offered to split the charge. I disagreed and said that the first attendant committed to remitting the charge with proof of filling the tank within a 10-mile radius.

He stated that he wouldn't go against the first attendant's judgment. I asked him for a printed document regarding the ruling on the gas charge, then Cynthia stated I could take it up with the manager (Timothy) the next morning and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave.

I stated to the attendant that I wanted fairness and nothing more. I then left the premises because the matter was not being resolved.

I feel that the incident was handled unprofessionally and disrespectfully. I made an effort to follow her instructions and the attendant said, "your not getting any money out of me"!

Not only did I top the gas tank as seen on the Mapco receipt, but also Cynthia marked on the sheet that I brought the car with 7.5 of 8 parts of a filled tank but charged me for nearly 2 gallons at the price of 6.99 $ per gallon.

The gas mileage on the PT cruiser is 23-29 mpg. I would have had to drive 40-50 miles for such a depletion of gas. I live 7 miles from the airport and a mile from the Mapco.
