I lost the key for my car over the weekend. There is not a locksmith or Home Depot or department store in town that has the program to program me a new key. It is dealer only. I took off of work to get a new key cut and programmed. The Don Herring Mitsubishi in Dallas didn't even have a blank! The car is a 2015 mirage. So they sent me to Irving, where they charged me $410 for a key to be cut and programmed. That's too much money, even for a FOB or smart key for such a little car. Will never buy another Mitsubishi and warning others to beware of these electronic keys. Online, the price of the key itself is about $65 and even if I had to pay the dealer to program it which would be another $65 and you have somebody else cut it, the total price would have maybe been $130. Here is the kicker, you can program it yourself with a key that has the chip in it, but only if you have two he's already in your possession. How can I have two if the car only came with two when I bought it and I lost one over the weekend? Bottom line $410 is way too much money for one single key
