In 2006, I purchased a car from a company called CarBuyChoice.com. I knew someone who worked there as a service manager so I felt a certain form of respect and trust in my purchase decision. The car was $8,000. This was a pre-owned car, but I trusted the individuals who sold it to me, to my disappointment.

The company I purchased from is what appears to be a God/Jesus centric company, claiming family values, trust, dependability etc. In their foyer, they have nothing but Christian literature all over the place. Oh my god, what a good company to buy from! (I thought to myself, these guys would never screw me).

The car I purchased had recently had major work done to it by CarBuyChoice themselves. They outsourced it to another company close to them because they don't have a service department. What they did, was replace the Radiator and the Thermostat. Who, in god's green earth, would replace a radiator? This is who... someone who owns a car that is overheating and is trying to fix the overheating problem.

I was told repeatedly that if I purchase the car, and there is still an issue, I can bring it back and get another one. Lies. Within the first day of driving the vehicle, the car exhibited overheating issues. I promptly called the service manager, Chuck Ritzi to explain what was happening. In a nutshell, Chuck advised me, regardless of what happens, Don Waisenan will not take blame for the problems as he knows I signed the as is warranty.

Naturally, I was upset. I took the car to several mechanics, eventually the diagnosis was a Blown Head Gasket causing the overheating, certified diagnosis from a real Cadillac Dealer. Now, get this.... Don Waisenan, for days and weeks of negotiating, swore up and down that the blown head gasket was not there prior to me buying and the only help he could offer me was to have someone who worked for him try and do the repair at a discounted rate of $2500! He actually tried to get me to have an uncertified/unlicensed mechanic work on a complicated Cadillac Northstar engine in his spare time as a side project to his work as a porter/car washer on his lot!

Now, riddle me this batman. A car, with a replaced radiator and a replaced thermostat, (obviously replaced due to overheating issues) comes out with the real problem of a blown head gasket and you tell me the blown head gasket wasn't there to begin with? You don't want to make right what you did wrong? You want to attack my credit file if I don't pay but you won't report my credit if I do pay on time?

OH MY GOD!!

The car, was repaired, by me for close to $5000. The car has had numerous other issues which have resulted in repairs to many major electrical components, including close to $3000 in repairs. Thsi was due to the overheating of the engine completely melting some electrical wires causing them to become brittle and crack over time after the head gasket was replaced. I can't tell you or explain to you the heartache this has caused me and my family, from start until now, 2 years later, where the car sits in my garage, driven only a few miles in a years time.

After this whole issue, the service manager was laid off. I later learned the service manager was to keep quiet about what happened or he could have lost his job. This is why I never heard from the person I trusted the most, because he would have had Chuck Ritzi's head on a Guillotine had he said anything that would lead to the conclusion that CarBuyChoice should have made right, what was rong and it was Don Waisanian's company that was at fault, not me who purchased the car in good faith.

Only adding to my pain is, I can't even take the car out of my garage and send it to a junk-yard until I pay off the loan on it. I'm stuck with a car in my garage for another year, never driven without problems, never accepting what I have now paid almost $20,000 for from a company that basically screws the public.

Sit for a moment and imagine... A Car, that everytime you got in, would only result in a ride that would produce numerous mechanical problems. How would your life be every time you go in? How would you feel towards the person/company that you got the car from?

My honest and truest opinion of this company is to stay away.... stay far, far far away from this man and his deceiving business practices.

The End.

I also bought a car from Car Buy Choice

I also bought a car from car buy choice and I must confess that the accusations about them are absurd to say the least.

Yes, I also had an issue when I bought a very used car from them (Toyota Camry 2005 with over 50k miles) but they extensively assessed my complaints about the car and went out of their way to fix it to my satisfaction, I reapeat to my satisfaction!

They are not perfect just like I am not but they indeed demonstrate who and what they claim to represent. In fact they are one of the few people that I have found to support faith based intergrity both vocally and practically.

Don even took time out to educate me on building my credit score among other things and his people were very warm and receptive.

It is very unfair to malign honest and hardworking business people based on prejudices and unattainable standards of excellence that some people who stand to judge would not even set for themselves.

None of the accusations of this complaint have any validity whatsoever. If a customer is unhappy with their vehicle purchase within ninety days or three thousand miles, our company policy states, that we will take back the vehicle and refund their money.

If the vehicle was damaged at the time of purchase, why did Mr. Ricky Henry pay to redeem the repossession and have the vehicle returned to him seven months after he purchased it? When we had to repossess the vehicle, because he was behind in his payments, it was in an impound yard and Mr. Henry was in jail. Upon his release from jail, he had to reimburse us for the cost of impound, repossession and pay the back payments in order to get the vehicle. Why would he do this if he didn't want the vehicle?

Unlike the Better Business Bureau and other credible consumer organizations, who've refused to even acknowledge Mr. Henry's extortion and smear campaign, Ripoff.com doesn't even question the veracity of allegations, or verify information. They simply create a form for unfounded accusations by those with malicious intent.
