Im a home builder on Long island and I rebuild old homes to make them new. I just finished a home in Levittown and I was in florida to start a new project. I was told by my building inspector to move the downspout over a few feet and put a storm ring on my chimney.
I had the downspout in my back yard ready to install and all Done Right had to do was install the downspout and supply and install the chimney rain cover. The total time it would take any one man junior mechanic would be 30 min to one hour for this job. The rain cover cost about $30. A very fair price would be $130.00 for this job or $200 if you are a high retail shop. I was quoted $1,300.00 for this job. Total Ripoff
I dont have the time to file these reports and i have been overcharged by other contractors before but not at this level. i did not hire Done Rite for this job i did it myself and took 45 min and i spent $25. I just want to Long island Community to be aware of these crooks and get estimates from three contractors before you hire. Do your homework!
